金沢21世紀美術館①！21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa ①！
江戸時代から豪華絢爛、北陸地方の文化の中心地であった金沢。その金沢の地に2004年、いままでにない新しい美術館、金沢21世紀美術館が誕生しました。金沢市内の中心部、兼六園のとなりにある金沢21世紀美術館は、その丸い円盤形の建物から“まるびぃ”という愛称で地元では親しまれている美術館。『世界の「現在（いま）」とともに生きる美術館』というミッションのもと、世界各地、同時代のアーティストを紹介し続けています。美術館は建物の形もさることながら、敷地に視界をさえぎる「外壁」がないのも特長の一つ。建物の外はフカフカの芝生と遊歩道。美術館へのお客さま以外にも、ちょっと休憩するサラリーマン、放課後の学生さん、お年寄り、子どもなどなどさまざまな人たちの憩いの場になっています。
